Jeff Ooi Menyertai Democratic Action Party, DAP

Pengendali blog terkemuka Malaysia, Jeff Ooi atau Ooi Chuan Aun, kini memilih untuk menceburi politik dengan menyertai DAP. Beliau menyenaraikan LAPAN faktor untuk meneruskan perjuangannya menerusi pentas politik. Berkelulusan MBA Pengurusan Antarabangsa dari Australia dan lulusan Universiti Sains Malaysia dalam jurusan Sains Politik serta pengalaman dalam dunia kewartawanan, memperlihatkan kombinasi yang jitu Jeff Ooi dalam memasarkan blognya. Jeff Ooi mempunyai pengaruh tersendiri di alam siber dan tidak mustahil mempunyai pengikut yang setia melayari blog beliau. Keputusan Jeff Ooi menceburi politik mungkin satu tindakan yang dinanti-nantikan pengikutnya atau mungkin, tidak disukai peminatnya. Apapun jawapannya, keputusan Jeff Ooi dilihat satu senario yang menarik di saat bloggers mendapat perhatian kerajaan kerana ketelusan melampau (ini berdasarkan kenyataan jemaah menteri mengenai kewujudan blog-blog politik). Apakah perjuangan berlandaskan politik akan diterima ramai berbanding perjuangannya sebelum ini yang dilihat neutral kerana tiada komitmen politik. Berdasarkan senario ini juga dapat memberi petunjuk adakah populariti blogger dapat diterjemahkan ke pentas politik dan seterusnya mendapat sokongan moral dan sokongan undi.
